Baby Boomers

Back in the Day,  when Baby Boomers were young they  had  time to sit down and talk to their grandparents and their grandparents had time to talk to their grandchildren.

That was a time young people respected adults.and any adult could correct any child.

Back in the day children had to be in front of the of the porch, in front of the house or in the house when the street lights came on.DSC_1108

From the book BOOMERS How We Changed The World by Richard A. Jordan
A great book that would be a great gift for the baby boomer in your life. A real cool book.
Hula hoops and GI Joes. Cheetos and Twizzlers. JFK and MLK. Bell bottoms and go-go boots. Sonny and Cher. Lennon and McCartney. 8-tracks and 45s. Protest and free love. When boomers reminisced on Facebook, Twitter, and beyond, they suggested thousands of ideas. We culled the top 101 heartstring-pingers. This book is that collective, definitive boomer response.

BOOMERS 101 The Definitive Collection
By Susan Carol McCarthy

If you were a teenager in the 1950s and the early part of the 1960s, doo wop music conjures up memories of hanging out with friends at the candy store or malt shop, dancing at the hop, and first romances. This book will transport you back to those nostalgic times. The Complete Book of Doo Wop provides an extensive history of doo wop from the 1940s through the early 1970s, gives definitions and illustrations of the music that falls between rhythm and blues and Rock ‘n’ Roll, and covers the musical groups that created it, including Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers, the Platters, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Dion and the Belmonts, the Chiffons and the Shirelles. The book also features 150 photos, 64 sheet-music covers and an extensive songography. If you are a collector or enthusiast, vocal harmony fan, music historian or just a music buff, you will discover plenty of fun facts, stories and quizzes on doo wop songs and groups.
