In the early 1990s, baby boomers flocked to a sometimes issue-oriented version of country rock, further fueling the record industry upswing. During the first four years of the decade, more than twenty-one million Americans, mostly baby boomers, became country music fans. By 1994, many of the nearly half of all Americans who listened to country music fit the baby-boom profile: 42 percent owned a house, 40 percent had a college education, and 36 percent lived in households with incomes of more than $60,000 a year. ” By their sheer demographic weight, the nation’s seventy-six million baby boomers continue to determine America’s musical preferences, ” observed Time in 1992. “and what America currently prefers is country.”These country boomers caused an upsurge in all formats of country music. In 1985, only sixteen country discs went gold, and nearly thirty sold more than one million copies. In 1992, sales of country discs and tapes reached $660 million, more than a 50 percent increase from the previous year. In 1980, about 1,534 radio stations played country music; twelve years later, more than 2,500 stations catered to country listeners. On television, The Nashville Network (TNN) grew from 7 million viewers at its inception in 1983 to 54.5 million subscribers in 1992, and from 1990 to 1992, the magazine Country America doubled its subscriptions to almost 1 million. To some extent, Bruce Springsteen paved the road to country success. The Boss’s anthemic tales of the working class and the downtrodden popularized a genre that neo-traditionalists in country embraced. Raised on rock-and-roll and country, singers such as Steve Earle, Travis Tritt, Dwight Yoakam, and Clint Black delivered the traditional populist message of country against a backdrop steeped in honky-tonk, country, and rock influences. They produced an energized, hard-hitting country rock with an outlaw image that grabbed the attention of baby boomers.

Music has always been a part of Lee Greenwood’s life, even while growing up on a farm near Sacramento, Calif. He started playing the piano when he was seven and the saxophone
at age 12. In junior high, he started his first group, called the Moonbeams. By the time he graduated from high school in June 1960, he played most all the instruments in the orchestra and was the drum major for the marching band. Greenwood passed on a track and music scholarship to the College of the Pacific, in addition to a professional baseball career. Those turned out to be great choices after he was discovered in 1979 by Larry McFaden, performing in a show at the Nugget Casino in sparks, Nev. McFaden was the bass player and bandleader for Mel Tillis. He brought the singer to Nashville and got him signed to a recording contract. Greenwood claims a string of hits including “Ring on Her Finger, Time on Her Hands,” “It Turns Me Inside Out,” “Somebody’s Gonna Love You,” “Holdin’ A Good Hand,” “I Don’t Mind the Thorns (If You’re the Rose),” “She’s Lyin” and “Dixie Road.” He has won numerous industry accolades including, the Academy of Country Music’s Male Vocalist of the Year (1985), two Male Vocalist of the Year awards from the Country Music Association (1983, 1984), a Grammy for Top Male Vocal Performance for “I.O.U.” (1985) and the CMA Song of the Year honor as the writer of “God Bless the USA” (1985). “God Bless the USA” has been voted the most recognizable patriotic song in America, and it went far beyond what Greenwood expected when he wrote it in the back of his tour bus in 1983. The song has been in the top five on the country singles charts three times (1991, 2001, 2003),, giving it the distinction of being the only song in any genre of music to achieve that feat. It was also # 1 on the pop charts immediately following 9/11.

One more thing to say is that an online business administration training is designed for scholars to be able to smoothly proceed to bachelors degree programs. The Ninety credit diploma meets the lower bachelor diploma requirements then when you earn your associate of arts in BA online, you may have access to the newest technologies in this field. Several reasons why students have to get their associate degree in business is because they may be interested in this area and want to find the general knowledge necessary just before jumping to a bachelor education program. Thx for the tips you provide in the blog.
